An ethical breakthrough in the ongoing battle between the culture of death and the culture of life. Two papers released today, report the "reprogramming" of human skin cells to mimic embryonic stem cells, using facial skin cells from a female cadaver and foreskin cells from a newborn. This research doesnt rely on the destruction of human life, therefore, it could be morally acceptable to Catholics; it presents itself as potentially acceptable to this Catholic.
We'll have to wait and see.
Now, as for cloning; i believe organ donation is a wonderful act of charity. However, the idea of cloning, whether moral or not, for the sole purpose of organ harvesting is immoral. It would be enslavement.
