3 boys, ages 8 and 9 have been charged with allegedly raping an 11 year girl last week, in Acworth, Georgia, north of Atlanta. There hasnt been a hearing yet to determine how to proceed; legally, the boys are too young to be charged with felonies, but could be with a lesser crime which could land them in juvenile detention for up to 5 years.
How to proceed?
I suspect the defense will paint a picture of our degraded, sexually charged culture that desensitized these boys into their behavior; but I believe it will ultimately come down to whether these boys know the difference between right and wrong.
This will be a difficult case for all parties, not only for the victim, but also her attackers who all will need our prayers for justice, healing and forgiveness.
